ACT is a Christian professional, support and information network. It's termly magazine ACT NOW provides news and comment on educational issues in England and elsewhere. In 1996 there were features on the impact of the Internet on education, Christian alienation from state school RE, criticisable assumptions in sex education, and an Open Letter to Tony Blair. ACT publishes a termly Prayer Diary, and has produced a Christian Manifesto for Education. Full members have to be employed (part- or full-time) in education, but anyone can join us as an Associate (ú10 in first year, ú15 in subsequent years) and have access to ACT's general services and individual advice. ACT's Christian basis is evangelical and non-denominational. It's General Secretary, Richard Wilkins BD, FRSA, is Anglican.
